Three
of the most common procedures in cosmetic dentistry are
bleaching, bonding, and the application of Laminiate Veneers.
|
| |
 |
The procedure
is simple:
Impressions
are taken of your upper and lower teeth.
From the impressions,
the doctor makes custom "trays".
Then you are
instructed on the use of your personalized, professional whitening
system.

 |
Corrects chips,
cracks, and spaces. It is often completed in one visit and in
some cases does not require the use of anesthesia.
The process
involves preparing the surface of the tooth with an etching gel,
which will allow a composite resin to adhere. A blend of various
color resins are used to retain a natural appearance. After the
resin is applied, the doctor hardens it with a special light.
The surface of the tooth is then smoothed and polished.

 |
Veneers correct
the same problems as bonding but they last longer. Veneers are
tooth shaped shell coverings that are cemented onto the surface
of the tooth.

Also
there are other different methods used in cosmetic dentistry
to enhance your smile.

Amazing
results can be achieved sometimes just by the reshaping
of uneven or twisted teeth. Reshaping of the enamel of the
outer layer of tooth structure is harmless and painless.
Which is another simple and quick cosmetic procedure with
dramatic results. "Minor tooth movement" Removable
appliances of acrylic with wire springs can move misaligned
teeth into a straighter alignment over a 3 -6 month period
of time. These appliances are adjusted at 3 week intervals
and present an option to the Invisalign® appliances.

Invisalign®
is a great invisible way to straighten your teeth without
braces. This unique cosmetic dentistry solution uses a series
of clear removable aligners which straighten your teeth
without metal wires or brackets. Invisalign® has been
proven effective in clinical research and in cosmetic dentistry
and orthodontic practices nationwide. Dr. Kirti Tolia DDS is pleased to offer patients this
option and is certified to treat patients with Invisalign®.
With
Invisalign®, you wear each set of aligners for about
2 weeks, removing them to eat, drink, brush, and floss.
As you replace each aligner with the next in the series,
your teeth move until they have straightened to the final
and desired position Dr. Kirti Tolia DDSi has prescribed. You'll visit Dr. Kirti Tolia DDS about once every six weeks to ensure
that your treatment is progressing as per your treatment
plan. Treatment time averages 9-15 months using from 18
to 30 aligners.

Removable
minor tooth movement appliances are fabricated in a pink
acrylic with wire springs, sometimes in conjunction with
elastic bands. The springs are on the inside and adjusted
by the dentist at three-week intervals to apply pressure
to the tooth where realignment is intended. They are usually
worn for a six-month course of treatment.
